(24in x 30in) This painting is inspired by the murals and portraits I would see under bridges I use to paint at when I was younger. They would all have a similar expression as if they there were distraught staring into the abyss. I would often paint directly across from the portraits to make it seem like their profound expression was in reaction to my own piece. In this case the portrait has no visual counterpart causing it to gaze into an eternal abyss.
